My "WHY"

My WHY… 💜

I wanted to take a moment to share the story behind my business—and the why behind Oak Blossom.

As far back as I can remember, there were two things I loved more than almost anything else: creating and riding horses. Both have always been a part of who I am.

But, as life often does, my path slowly took me farther and farther away from those childhood dreams. I had always dreamed of a creative career and of having a horse of my own, but somewhere along the way, I began listening more to the opinions and well-intentioned advice of others than to the desires God had placed in my own heart. So, I buried those dreams inside.

Then life brought some difficult and life-changing experiences, including cancer and other hardships, that caused me to stop and take a good, hard look at my life. I realized I didn’t want to continue letting my dreams slip away. I wanted to use the creativity and talents God had given me and see where He might lead me.

So, after a lot of prayer, I took a leap of faith and followed my heart.

Before I knew it, I was in business. For the past 18 years, I’ve had the privilege of designing flowers for weddings, owning and operating a brick-and-mortar home décor store, and now, selling my creations online. Along the way, I’ve also discovered how much I love teaching others the art of floral design and watching them experience the joy and satisfaction that comes from creating something beautiful.

And that, in a nutshell, is my WHY.

I’m incredibly thankful to God for being patient with me, for continuing to guide me, and for leading me to where I am today.

I have a beautiful family, work that I truly love, and a heart that is full of gratitude.
